Roebuck photography is currently a sole proprietorship. Owned and managed by Jack Roebuck. For me (Jack) I began photography as a hobby. I enjoyed taking photos as part of personal projects. Genres such as street-photography and landscape is where I took my first steps into photography. I want to continue my personal projects As my business grows and becomes increasingly more successful.
for me I define a personal-project in photography as “Personal Photography to achieve joy for oneself“. meaning I set out personal-projects to enjoy photography by creating goals, challenge myself or setting out to achieve a particular aim. Personal projects keep photography fresh by allowing me to flex the creative muscles.
As a keen street photographer this page will host my my ongoing project “Modern life”. Street Photography is a very important area of photography. Street photography is often undervalued and overlooked within photography, reasons such as it is difficult to commercialise, and its steep learning curve. To become a good street photography you need awareness and a understanding of many elements. You need decent technical understanding, You need a understand how to build context to your images, You need to know when and when not to take photos. You also need to sometimes be willing to be brave and a little daring. You should aim to never upset the public or should never look for conflict.
Street is important as it documents history and the times that we live in. Photographs are a very effective ways of documenting how we currently live in a way that expresses our struggles, hopes and dreams for the future generations. I believe there is a code of honour among serious street photography, That being to capture what is true and as it happens, and not to shoot with a set bias or agenda in mind.
This is why I love street photography, Its a combination of both luck and skill. It is a very humbling and effective teacher within photography. Street photography is a great genre of photography. It is something every photographer can do. from new amateurs, keen hobbyists all the way to the hardened full time professionals.

Modern life:
The First Photo of the “Modern life" The bdusker. Buskers are commonplace in London. Many wielding instruments. They bring character to the streets. Musical Buskers are my favourite as they are of the least intrusive of Buskers.
Extinction Rebellion in Munich- Germany/ December 2019
In 2019-2020 have seen many protests across the world, This is the “Extinction Rebellion”. The Extinction Rebellion are a environmental protest group that have a global presence, Protesting to save the environment and for a greener and cleaner planet. As a street photographer I have happened upon them a few times now. During this photo I was on a lads holiday with 2 of my friends. We where enjoying some mulled wine when we saw the extinction Rebellion march past. Luckily I had my camera on me to capture this image.

Alone in the underground.
The London Underground are one of the oldest and busiest of underground networks in the world. The underground can Almost feel haunted when alone.
Big Ben has been Silenced..
Since 2017 Big Ben has been silenced as the clock tower undergoes maintenance. The works have been estimated to last 4 years. however there was no way to factor in the effects Covid-19 in the estimation made years ago.
Jackie Chan-Chan
A Talented busker going by the alias “Jackie chan-chan”. I like this image I took in 2017 as composition of the performer is very well captured and with his crowed of spectators within the background marvelling at his dexterity, balance and strength.
Fire and Ice.
Taken when I was briefly living/ visiting a close friend in BC Canada during 2018, A pyro performer in the snow, This was the only images I took of the show and I am quite proud of it.
